Thirty-five days from seed to the first cut. This is all of it.
You sow, and walk away.
Seedlings start in the trays at the base. Water only. The wall stays empty for ten days and there is nothing for you to do about it.
The app opens on what is due. Usually nothing.
The only day you get your hands wet.
The strongest seedlings move up into the wall. Ten minutes, once. From here the tower runs the light and the feed itself.
It tells you which tray is ready and which pocket to use.
It starts looking like something.
Leaves close over the wall. One tank top-up somewhere in this stretch, and that is genuinely the whole of your involvement.
One reminder, once. Not a notification habit.
Dinner is three steps away.
Take the outer leaves and leave the young ones in the middle. Enough for a family salad, and the plant does not notice.
Log the cut and the next date moves on its own.
Then it keeps going.
Cut and come again for weeks. When a pocket finally gives up, you sow it. Nobody starts the whole wall over.

The people behind Cubictree also run a working indoor farm that sells greens to real kitchens every week. When something goes wrong with a crop, the person answering has grown it at scale.

Will it die on me?+
The tower runs the light, the water and the feed. What kills houseplants is forgetting, and forgetting is the part we took away. If a crop still fails in the first season, we replace the seedlings.
How much power does it use?+
130 watts, around one unit a day. At the SESB domestic rate as revised in February 2026, that is roughly RM0.50 a day. Less than leaving a fan on.
How long until I can eat something?+
Thirty-five days for leafy greens, from sowing to the first cut. Microgreens are about a week. Strawberries and cherry tomatoes take around sixty days.
What do I have to actually do?+
Move the seedlings up once, around day ten. Top up the tank every week or two. Pick what you want to eat. That is the list.
Who makes it?+
The tower is manufactured overseas and we are the Malaysian distributor. What is local is the growing knowledge and the support from Kota Kinabalu. We would rather say that plainly than dress it up.
